Amy Kilpin - Ironman
Amy started off 2012 barely being able to swim, and her first season of triathlon was defined by the objective of just being able to finish a race! However, after entering her first half Ironman event in September 2012, Amy decided to enter a full Ironman in 2013, and took the step of getting a triathlon performance coach at the end of last year.
The big race was Ironman UK on 4th August, (this involves a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26 mile run, a full marathon!) and training up to 20 hours per week, Amy’s hard work paid off as she came 10th in her age group in a time of 13:18. Although a much shorter race, she also recently came 1st in the local Aldbury Triathlon, but has ambitious plans for 2014 with the aim of representing GBR at Long Distance Triathlon.
Amy has recently started working with Emma James Physio who are supporting her with bespoke physiotherapy, sports massage and kriotherapy. This will prepare her for a hard season of triathlon next year and hopefully help her smash a few PBs!
Amy is also working with a number of other sponsors including Lovelo Cycle Works in Berkhamsted, sports nutritionist Fitnaturally and Trojan Training.
