Before my second career in the fitness industry I was a Professional Dancer, appearing in shows such as Chicago, Fame, West Side Story, Cabaret, My Fair Lady,Victor Victoria, Kiss me Kate etc etc. I studied Ballet and Dance in Holland and London.
During my seventeen years on stage I was always keenly aware of the need to stay physically and mentally in shape. As a result I used to use Pilates, Yoga and Ballet to stay fit for the demanding life on stage.
Although Ballet and Dance are my passion, I trained as a Stott Pilates Teacher in Munich, Germany in 2004. Since then I have further developed my skills. I have undergone training in Aerobics, Dance Aerobics, Fitness Yoga, Indoor Cycling, Tai Chi, Pilates Ball, Core Stability, Body Conditioning, Aqua Aerobics, Zumba and most recently DDMIX (a diverse dance mix created by Darcey Bussell and Nathan Clarke) However, Pilates is my one favourite as it gives the body a good balance of strength and flexibility and helps you a lot in daily life..
Nowadays I get a tremendous sense of achievement when I see people in my classes reach their personal goals.
The basic principles of STOTT PILATES are Breathing, Pelvic placement, Rib cage placement, Scapular movements and stabilization, head and cervical placement. We will work on posture correction, spinal articulation, joint mobility and stabilization, core strength and stabilization of the lumbo-pelvic region which will help reduce back pain.
