Emma James MD and owner and senior clinical director BSc (Hons), MCSP, SRP, HPC, APPI.
Since qualifying as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1998 Emma has worked extensively in the private sectors, treating muscular and skeletal injuries. Emma offers the highest level of service utilising the latest medical research.
Her passion and drive for a patient centric approach to care has driven her to strive to continue to develop her clinical skills over the last two decades. She has ploughed that care and passion into her stunning practice in the heart of Hemel Hempstead.
The main areas of focus of her treatments are the management of movement dysfunctions and recovery from long or complex injury. As a qualified APOS therapist and women’s health practioner these skills allow her to review the body biomechanics as a whole.
Pilates, acupuncture and biomechanical analysis anchor her diagnostics skills and enable her to treat holistically. Alongside the floatation therapy, working very closely with some of London's top private consultants and working in one of London's leading Physiotherapy Practices, twelve years ago Emma set up her stunning luxury medical centre, in a beautiful converted school house in the heart of the Chiltern Hills and has created an incredible wellbeing department using holistic therapy, focusing on inner health and mindfulness complete with fully equipped gym and state of the art Floatation Tank - the only one of its kind in Hertfordshire. Emma James Physio has also recently become an accredited Apostherapy clinic focusing on non evasive and surgery free treatment for knee, hip and back pain.
Emma believes everybody deserves a life free from pain and creates bespoke packages for every client with individual requirements being the key focus.
The basic principles of STOTT PILATES are Breathing, Pelvic placement, Rib cage placement, Scapular movements and stabilization, head and cervical placement. We will work on posture correction, spinal articulation, joint mobility and stabilization, core strength and stabilization of the lumbo-pelvic region which will help reduce back pain.
